Your Very First Blog Post

1. Find a famous quote about libraries, books, reading, writing or authors.
2. Post the quote with an image that relates to it. 
3. Explain who said it and tell us something about them (you might need to do some research on the person).
3. Discuss why you chose that quote, what the author meant by it and what it means to you.

Example: Give a brief explanation of who George R. Martin is, explain why you chose the quote, what you think the author meant by it, and what it means to you. 


This must all be in your own words, please! No copy and paste, and no ChatGPT! I am interested in what YOU care about, and what YOU think <3 

Part 2: 
1. Once you are feeling more comfortable with checking books in and out, please write down what you have learned about it-what are the most important things to remember? 

2. Familiarize yourself with all the genres (fiction and non-fiction) in the library; list them here and then pick 3 that you think you would be most interested in.

Blog Post #8: Social Issues & Graphic Novels

Find a graphic novel (or picture book) that deals with a historical event or specific issue (the Holocaust/Iranian revolution/bullying etc). It can be fiction or non-fiction.  Please have your choice approved first In a blog post include: A picture of the book along with title, name of author and copyright information. A summary of the book. The summary needs to be in your own words and include all of the pertinent information needed for someone who has not read the book to feel they understand it. This means you need to read the book ;)  Some information/facts about the issue. The information can be copy/pasted but you must include sources (MLA). A description of an assignment for a certain class (i.e. Socials 11, English 9, Career and Planning 10, Social Justice 12, First Nations 12) using that book as well as other picture books or graphic novels around  the same theme.  This means you will need to research other books that would help them.
